To Our Valued Stakeholders:

As part of MSFHR’s commitment to providing advance notice of program details and timelines, I am very pleased to announce that competition guidelines for the first intake of the 2017 Health Policy Fellowship will be made public on the MSFHR website later today.  As a reminder, applications to this program are scheduled to open the week of September 12.

The MSFHR Health Policy Fellowship is a salary award for post-doctoral fellows engaged in health research who are interested in preparing for careers in a variety of health research and research user roles. Fellows will undertake short-term six to 12 month policy assignments in the BC Ministry of Health or one of the province’s health authorities.

The 2017 Health Policy Fellowship competition is the first of MSFHR’s new suite of funding programs to launch, the purpose being to foster positive and constructive exchanges between health researchers and health system decision-makers in order to bridge the gap between the worlds of academic research and health policy.

In addition, we are nearly finished analyzing the nearly three months-worth of feedback gathered during our regional consultations, and a summary of what we have found will be communicated to you in the coming weeks.  I will continue to share information on our new programs as they develop, so please stay tuned for further updates. As always, we welcome your feedback and appreciate the input you’ve already provided to us.

Kind regards,

Les
