Visit with Theatre and Performance Scholar Selena Couture

For a week in February, theatre and performance scholar Dr. Selena Couture came to work with students for two classes. In the first class, Couture presented a short lecture and overview of the concepts she developed in her disseration on Stanley Park and performance, followed by a discussion.

Dr. Selena Couture is an Assistant Professor at the University of Alberta. Her research focuses on Canadian Indigenous Theatre, Performance and Decolonizing practices; Land, Place Names and Performance; Indigenous Language Revitalization Practices; Colonial Performance and the Construction of Whiteness; Archival Practices, the Repertoire and Historiographic Method. She received her PhD in Theatre from the University of British Columbia.
