Chris Welsby: British Artists' Film

This DVD includes works from different stages in Welsby's career, uniquely tracing his development as an artist. It contains the films Stream Line, Park Film, Windmill 3, Seven Days, Sky Light, Drift, and the now classic twin screen films: River Yar (made with William Raban) and Wind Vane.

Total running time 161 minutes.

Plus: "The Frame - Chris Welsby" (2005) a 29-minute interview with John Wyver of Illuminations TV, traces the ideas that inform the making of the films and includes video documentation of his installations.

This DVD includes a 20-page illustrated booklet, containing a full annotated filmography and videography with detailed descriptions of all the films and installations. The DVD jacket includes an introductory essay by Laura Mulvey.

Chris Welsby – Selected Films 1973–1993

The works featured on this two disc compilation are high-resolution digital transfers from the original 16mm films made between 1973 and 1993, including: Anenometer, Colour Separation, Drift, Park Film, Seven Days, Skylight, Streamline, Tree, and Windmill.

Total running time: 103 minutes.

This DVD release included a 16 page booklet containing colour stills, explanatory notes for each film, and a new essay written by the filmmaker.
