Five giant cuttlefish on an underwater reef

Check out what we do!

Motivation

Our motivation? That’s simple! We love cephalopods! These marine invertebrates are highly intelligent and have evolved to become adaptable to their environment and flourished quite elegantly for the past few millions years. Sadly though, the ocean has been changing over time as well (hint: not for the better), and these poor creatures are not adapting fast enough. Some species of cephalopods are flourishing but some are beginning to and or are endangered because of over predation and dying reefs or ocean floors. We want to be able to understand more about these creatures and save them from the poisoned ocean to prevent the extinction of cephalopods. This is where our goal comes in!

Goal

We want to raise awareness for the dropping in population for cephalopods, while also earning your donations to protect the lives of these creatures. Octopuses, Squids, Nautiluses and Cuttlefishes alike, we want to be able to protect all of them. We can ensure this through your donations in our website. In exchange for your donations, you get to receive a plush toy of your favourite cephalopod!

Rescue the Cephalopods (RTC) is working with other organizations such as National Geographic to ensure that every cent in your donations are used efficiently and optimally to the favour of the cephalopods. Some of your donations go to funds for better technology to reach greater depths in the ocean, better equipment for diving and saving the animals, as well as biological and nursery treatment for longer life expectancies for the cephalopods.
