Spring 2015 Trip: Mineral Deposits of South-Central BC
The SFU-SEG student chapter will be taking a field trip in Spring 2015 throughout Southern British Columbia. On this trip we will visit two active mines and one exploration project. Students will be provided with a field trip guide which details geologic and economic information on each deposit from resource discovery to current production/exploration status.
Additionally, the trip will include a lab tour providing an introduction to geochemical assay and metallurgical testwork services. Finally, students will be given an opportunity to learn about local mining history in British Columbia and to network with industry professionals.
