problems

When I first started the project I thought it would be a breeze, however, shortly after I started I ran into a few problems.

1.1. Data Collection

1. Finding the data that I needed was quite difficult.  In order to solve this, I ended revamping my project and I chose to do a locational analysis for the proposed open-air stadium.  After I did this, it was still difficult to find data, but I had a start with the available data from the S: driver.  I ended up importing a good portion of my image from ArcGIS. 

    2. Importing Data

1. I thought that importing data would to be easy, again I underestimated this task.  Difficulties that I had were once images were imported in IDRISI, I had troubles converting it into raster format.  Other troubles I ran into was not putting my images into the same projection as well as the same coordinate systems.  A good portion of my time was spent importing and converting data.  I also had to append all the bus stop shapefiles together, this was quite difficult as I had no idea what to do.

    3. Analysis

1. The only problem I ran into here was the fact that once I ran the MCE I could not group my plots, it gave me an error saying that I had too many groups, and that it was unable to perform the task, aside from that everything went smoothly.

    4. General

1. The major problem I encountered was when I had to import data from ArcGIS and ArcVIEW into IDRISI, and then converting the image into raster format.  This took up a good portion of my time, and it was very frustrating at times.  Everything else went smoothly, thank goodness for that.
