Results

Our team was unable to meet all of our goals; our most significant setback being failure to successfully transfer the DEM into Idrisi32. This prevented us from achieving a primary objective – to explore and illuminate the relationships between glacial sediments and elevation in order to draw conclusions about glacial lake formation as well as the timing and extent of the ice sheet in this region. Despite this however, we believe this project is valuable. The project provided valuable insight and experience to team members regarding the magnitude and importance and role of data acquisition and processing plays in project design. As well, once the technical problems of the DEM and its coordination with the digital Quaternary coverage is ironed out, the data will be a valuable contribution to the study of geomorphological research in Southern Alberta.
