Extreme heat poses growing risks for older adults, whose health and temperature regulation can be affected by age and chronic conditions. The Comprehensive Approach to Enhance Older Adults’ Preparedness for Extreme Heat (COPE) study combines the lived experiences with scientific knowledge to co-create practical strategies for heat resilience—empowering older adults to better prepare for a changing climate.

Dr. Pauly, Principal Investigator of the COPE Project, will deliver a talk on “Coping with Heat: Recommendations and Challenges for Aging” on November 5. Organized by the Edwin S.H. Leong Centre for Healthy Aging at UBC, the event will explore how to better support older adults during extreme heat.
