Inuvialuit Elders, traditional experts, and educators from the Northwest Territories travelled to the Smithsonian Institution to reconnect with historical cultural items, facilitating the creation of new knowledge about the collection and its ongoing life in Inuvialuit communities.

This IPinCH case study grew out of the Inuvialuit desire to have greater access to and knowledge about a collection of museum objects, brought from their community to Washington, D.C. in the 19th century.
