REMINDER: UPLOAD PROOF OF VACCINATION

If you have declared that you are vaccinated, you must submit a photo of your B.C. Vaccine Card to show proof of your vaccination to the secure and confidential Thrive website by Friday, November 5.

The vaccine declaration is mandatory for SFU community members. Getting vaccinated is the most important thing we can do to protect ourselves and our community from COVID-19.

UNIVERSITY NEWS

DECOLONIZATION AND RECONCILIATION IN THE CLASSROOM

"Reconciliation is not a static, abstract concept. It begins and continues with you and your relationships: your relationship to the land you live upon, to the Indigenous peoples who have stewarded the land since time immemorial, to your family, friends, peers—to your community."

Discover what five scholars from SFU's Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences shared about decolonizing and bringing acts of reconciliation into their classrooms.

SVSPO LAUNCHES ACTIVE BYSTANDER INTERVENTION CAMPAIGN

The Sexual Violence Support & Prevention Office (SVSPO) is introducing a campaign on active bystander intervention from November 1-12. #ItTakesAllOfUsSFU aims to empower SFU community members, including faculty, staff and students, to recognize and respond to harm when we witness it.

STUDENTS AND STAFF COLLABORATE TO ENSURE WATER ACCESS ON CAMPUSES

As SFU prepared to phase out single-use plastic beverage bottles, students pointed out a problem—water refill stations were not equally accessible across university buildings.

An SFU club, Ban the Bottle, along with Ancillary Services, Facilities Services, the Sustainability Office and IT Services came together to increase water access across SFU. These groups collaborated to identify locations lacking water access, install new water stations, upgrade older models and upload the map of refill locations to the SFU SNAP App.
