Theresa Hanson, senior director of athletics and recreation, together with Breanne Watson, associate director, athletics, and Ryan Stolys, president of the student athletic advisory committee, have selected a representative and inclusive working group to develop the new name that allows everyone in our diverse university community to feel connected and proud of the efforts and achievements of our outstanding student-athletes. Co-chaired by Watson and Stolys, the Varsity Team Name Working Group is composed of student-athletes, coaches, and staff. You can find more information about the Working Group, and about our varsity team naming process, on the Athletics website.
