Training

SFU is committed to protecting the personal privacy of all community members, and you have an important role to play in this process.

We are entrusted with vast amounts of personal information about our students, employees, alumni and other third parties. As a public institution, we have both an ethical and a legal obligation to protect the privacy of the individuals about whom we collect personal information. Safeguarding that information, as outlined in BC’s Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA), is a responsibility shared by members of each department team across our three campuses.

This means that no matter what you do at SFU, protection of privacy is an important part of your job.
