RETURN TO CAMPUS

FIND OUT HOW ONE LEADER IS SUPPORTING HIS TEAM'S TRANSITION BACK TOGETHER ON CAMPUS

How can you have respectful, open and honest conversations with team members about their comfort levels as SFU transitions back to campus? Trevor Davis, executive director of research operations in the Office of the Vice-President Research and International, shares his top tips.

Tomorrow, bring your lunch to the new benches at the top of the Burnaby Campus’ Transportation Centre to catch up with friends and colleagues and enjoy the sights and sounds of campus.

Did you know you can book your second dose appointment as early as 28 days after your first dose? Getting vaccinated is the number one thing we can all do to protect our community. Register today.

LORNE DAVIES COMPLEX SET TO UNDERGO TRANSFORMATION

The next phase of renewal begins this spring. Updates include remodelled men's and women's general change rooms, accessible washrooms, expanded team rooms for men's and women's varsity programs, a permanent wrestling centre, seismic strengthening and HVAC system improvements.

The project will ensure that both general change rooms and varsity team rooms are equitable in size and scope for all athletes and community members. Architects Perkins + Will, who designed the SFU Stadium at Terry Fox Field and the new Student Union Building, are leading the renewal.

RESOURCES + OPERATIONAL UPDATES

NATIONAL DAY FOR TRUTH AND RECONCILIATION

Last week, the B.C. Government formally recognized September 30th as the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. As part of this formal recognition, SFU will cancel all classes and suspend non-essential campus services on Thursday, September 30, 2021.

As we return to campus this fall, some may find it challenging to adjust to this new change. SFU Human Resources has compiled various online resources to help ease the transition and plan for the impacts of change. For more supports, visit the learning & development page.
