FUNDING ANNOUNCED FOR BURNABY MOUNTAIN FIRE HALL |
Burnaby North-Seymour MP Terry Beech recently announced that the federal government is committing $30 million to build a new fire hall on Burnaby Mountain.
“This investment...supports the continued growth of our economy and addresses the unique emergency management needs related to our community’s mountain location and growing population,” said Beech in a written statement.

BEAT THE HEAT THIS WEEKEND |
A heat warning is in effect for Metro Vancouver until at least Sunday, August 15. Here are some tips to help manage the heat and keep indoor temperatures low when working:
- Stay hydrated and drink plenty of water
- Avoid using laptops in your lap
- Wear lightweight, loose-fitting clothing
- If possible, turn off regular office lights and use task lighting
- Turn lights out and ensure computers are turned off at the end of the day
