Quantum computing is poised to revolutionize how we understand medicine, chemistry, alternative fuels and more—and also to create cybersecurity risks for every institution across the world.
SFU's researchers are not only working to build commercially viable quantum computers, but working to create the networks, programs and building blocks that will mitigate risk and create real impact for people and communities.
Other priorities:
Quantum for real impact
Meet the people behind the work.
Stephanie Simmons is the co-founder of Photonic Inc. and a Canada Research Chair in Silicon Quantum Technologies, working to build the world's first scalable quantum computing and networking platforms.
Kero Lau is a Canada Research Chair in Quantum Information Science, and his Quantum Optics and Information Theory Group investigates the possibilities and opportunities that future quantum devices may create.
Thomas Jennewein is a Canada Excellence Research Chair in Global Quantum Internet Systems, and working to make the global quantum internet possible through long range and satellite networks.
