Tayybeh--the Arabic word for “kind” and “delicious”-- is a social enterprise and specialty food company that is taking Vancouver by storm! What began in October 2016 as a single pop-up dinner has turned into an amazing culinary journey featuring full catering services, a seasonal food truck, and delicious dips at markets and stores across the Lower Mainland.
Just three years since the beginning of our catering service, Tayybeh has won numerous awards including Western Living’s “Foodies of the Year,” The Georgia Straight’s “Best of Vancouver,” and the City of Vancouver’s “Excellence Award” to name a few. One of the fastest growing catering services in the city, we are proud to be an all-women operation that employs remarkable newcomer Syrian women chefs who have been recognized by some of the city’s top chefs, including Vikram Vij. At Tayybeh, our chefs are provided a source of income and community connections in return for their extraordinary food. And their mouthwatering recipes have earned them rave reviews from food critics and customers alike. So much so that they have been featured in Saveur and will be the subject of a forthcoming Tayybeh cookbook from Penguin Random House.
