Lift a Stool

Equipment: A stool and a sheet of 1'x1'x1/4" rubber with a handle.

What it does: The stool is lifted with the rubber sheet.

Concepts Demonstrated: Air pressure.


Classroom assembly:

  1. Place the sheet of rubber on the stool.
  2. Using the handle on the rubber sheet, lift the stool.

Note:

Cautions: None.

Setup Time: Short.

Difficulty: Straightforward.

Visibility: High. This demonstration is appropriate for large lecture halls.
