Engage in Research Studies at WearTech Labs

WearTech Labs conducts human-centered research to advance wearable technologies, health monitoring systems, and personalized approaches to care. Through our research studies, community members have the opportunity to contribute to projects that explore how emerging technologies can support health, well-being, and daily life.

Our work brings together engineering, health sciences, and human-computer interaction to develop and evaluate technologies that can make a meaningful impact in real-world settings. From wearable sensors and smart textiles to interactive systems and rehabilitation technologies, our studies rely on participant involvement to help us better understand human needs and improve future healthcare solutions.

Ongoing Studies

Pressure Injury Study

SFU WearTech Labs is recruiting healthy adults aged 19+ for a research study on pressure injury prevention. The study explores how wearable and non-invasive technologies may help improve patient well-being during prolonged hospital visits.

Participation involves a 1-hour study session at the City Centre 2 Building in Surrey, near Surrey Memorial Hospital. Participants will receive a $50 honorarium for their time.
