-FULLSTIMER | -NOFULLSTIMER

FULLSTIMER | NOFULLSTIMER

FULLSTIMER: writes to the SAS log a complete list of resources that were used for each step and for the entire SAS session.
NOFULLSTIMER: does not write to the SAS log a complete list of resources.

Details

The statistics printed by FULLSTIMER depend on which machine you use. On BSD-based UNIX systems, the SAS System calls the getrusage() UNIX system call to obtain the statistics presented with FULLSTIMER. On System V-based UNIX systems, the SAS System calls the time() and times() UNIX system calls.

If both FULLSTIMER and STIMER are set, the FULLSTIMER statistics are printed.

FULLSTIMER can display

the elapsed time (real time), the cpu time spent in user mode (user cpu), and the cpu time spent performing system overhead tasks on behalf of the SAS process (system cpu).
the number of pages that SAS tried to access but were not in main memory and required I/O activity (page faults), and the number of pages that can be accessed without I/O activity (page reclaims).
the amount of memory required to run a step (memory).
the number of times a process was swapped out of main memory (page swaps).
the number of block input and output operations.
the number of times that the SAS process had to give up on the CPU because of a resource constraint such as a disk drive (voluntary context switches), and the number of times that the operating system forced a process into an inactive state (involuntary context switches).

FULLSTIMER displays all statistics returned by the operating environment.
