Specifies the file that contains messages to be written to the SAS log

Default: !SASROOT/misc/base/news (set in the installed !SASROOT/sasv8.cfg file)

Valid in: SAS invocation, SASV8_OPTIONS environment variable, configuration file

UNIX specifics: -NONEWS option

-NEWS filename | -NONEWS

-NEWS filename: specifies the name of the file that contains messages for the SAS log.
-NONEWS: causes any previous NEWS specifications to be ignored.
