MSGLEVEL=N | I

N
specifies that the SAS System print only note, warning, and error messages. This is the default.

I
specifies that the SAS System print informational, note, warning, and error messages.


Details

The MSGLEVEL= system option controls the amount of information that the SAS System writes to the SAS log in certain situations. For example, if SAS uses an index to optimize a WHERE or BY statement, it usually does not generate a log note about it. If MSGLEVEL=I, however, the system displays a note to the log whenever it uses an index to optimize a statement.
