Syntax

VERBOSE | NOVERBOSE

VERBOSE
specifies that the SAS System write the settings of the system options.

NOVERBOSE
specifies that the SAS System not write the settings of the system options.

Details

The VERBOSE system option is valid only on the command line at SAS invocation or in the VMS_SAS_OPTIONS DCL symbol.

Under OpenVMS, the settings are written to your display in any method of running the SAS System except batch mode. If you invoke SAS as a part of a batch job, the settings are written to the OpenVMS batch log.

If you specify the VERBOSE system option in a configuration file, no error message is generated, but the option is ignored.
