BUFNO=number-of-buffers

number-of-buffers: specifies the number of buffers that you want to allocate.

Details

The number of buffers is not a permanent attribute of the data set, and it is valid only for the current SAS session or job. The BUFNO system option applies to SAS files opened for input, output, or update.

Under Windows, there is no maximum number of buffers you can allocate, except for memory constraints.
