Asian giant hornets have arrived in British Columbia and Washington state, triggering concerns for the safety of honeybee colonies and people. SFU biologist Mark Winston, one of the world’s leading experts on bees and pollination, can speak to the threat of these creatures to apiculture and bee management. Winston’s expertise on bees spans more than three decades and he is the author of several books, including Bee Time: Lessons from the Hive (2014) and Listening to the Bees (2018).
