Small businesses at risk as CEBA loan repayment deadline hits – SFU experts available

January 17, 2024

SFU experts are available to speak about the risk of bankruptcy to small businesses and the need to increase business productivity as many businesses struggle to repay an interest-free loan that helped them survive the COVID-19 pandemic.

Thursday marks the repayment deadline for the Canada Emergency Business Account (CEBA) loan, an interest-free loan of $40,000 or $60,000 that helped businesses weather the harsh economic environment of the pandemic. Businesses must repay two-thirds of their loans to qualify for partial loan forgiveness.
