Synchronizer, Sync-block, (Gang-)

A device which moves several tracks of magnetic film and a work print together, frame by frame.

Was used in sound editing and preparing tracks for the mix. Used to be only accurate way to insure synchronization between all the reels of magnetic film as most editing machines (see Steinbeck) do lose a frame of synchronization here and there.
