TCP Reno: congestion avoidance

• No congestion:

  when cwnd > ssthresh,
  

cwnd = cwnd + 1/cwnd for

each ACK

• Congestion detected:

  ssthresh = flight size/2
  

• Timeout:

  cwnd = 1 or 2
  
  
  Flight size: the amount of data that has been sent, but not acknowledged.
