  • laptops
  • PDA
  • data-capable cell phones.

• Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) is the most widely used transport protocol in wireline networks:

  • carries 95% of Internet traffic.

• Mobile devices require TCP features similar to wireline networks.

• TCP over wireless links demands special attention.
