Job Position Description for Axiom Zen:

As the ideal candidate, you are comfortable working with an experienced and fast-paced team, taking on significant responsibilities, and pushing the boundaries of what's possible. You appreciate and learn from design trends and best practices, but are not afraid to bend or break the rules to deliver groundbreaking work. You love everything web-related and are comfortable designing and polishing world-class brands, logos, and visual designs. This is a permanent and full-time position based in our office in Vancouver, Canada.

Your duties include:

Conceptualize and develop animated graphics for new original content, promos, and sales support videos.
Work to specific client briefs as well as bringing original creative concepts to the table.
Prepare artwork for digital and press output.
Prepare sketches, layouts and graphic elements using design software tools.
Create 2D and 3D motion graphics for our digital products and marketing materials.
Work with marketing team to conceptualize and produce custom animations.

My audience

My audience is an award-winning venture studio specializing in new venture creation, building products and companies at the cutting edge of technology. The team consists of fifty founder-quality engineers, designers, and product leads combine a wealth of experience from fast-growing startups as well as companies like Apple, Google, and SpaceX.

What they need to know

I have the right type of skillets that align with their job description. Specifically, they need to understand that I have mastery over the adobe creative suite, have strong 2D animation skills (After Effects) and am up to date with design trends. It could also be beneficial if they understood that I incorporate these throughout all my projects, including my portfolio site. Therefore quality and layout of the design of my portfolio will be important.

Accessing content

They can access that content through the projects I post on my portfolio site, which can include a 3 minute motion graphic and video piece for Vancouver’s Anime Revolution, or projects such as my co-op work with TrainingPort.net creating animated instructional videos for pilots, or my personal work producing music accompanied with videos. Through these projects, there will be a breakdown of my process, highlighting how I utilized key skills throughout, as well as the end result, and what I was able to achieve.
