Re: Advice re conference planning



I've organized conferences in Whistler and Vancouver.

Whistler is pretty impressive but on the downside it's too pricey in winter and summer, and best for a shoulder season. It is also highly inconvenient to get to, especially if you're flying in from outside North America.

For Vancouver I used the Segal building. It worked very well and was a fine location. SFU has (had?) some arrangement with Delta Suites nearby. We reserved a block of rooms through them, but it's not clear that it was necessary. Agree that participants loved the location downtown by the water.
