Join SFU faculty working for climate justice

Dear colleagues,

I know many of you are concerned about the climate crisis and are already taking action in your own lives to mitigate global heating and to demand governments act to bring about a just transition from fossil fuels.

I invite you to join your colleagues in a new SFU group, “Faculty for Future”. The purpose of the group will be to bring faculty together to demand a just transition from fossil fuels and to oppose new fossil fuel infrastructure projects (especially TMX pipeline). Working with student activists and Indigenous land defenders and water protectors, we hope to foster and expand the climate justice movement at SFU.

Time for mitigating climate change is running out. We can be more effective at protecting the  future if we coordinate our efforts.

Please join us by completing this form - http://websurvey.sfu.ca/survey/416595722

Please note that we need all kinds of members, including those who are supportive, but unlikely to be able to participate much.  Please feel free to share this email widely.

Thank you,
