Areas of interest

We, my students and I, study birds in pristine and modified landscapes from the Arctic to Central America. We conduct research, in partnership with scientists and conservation biologists in government and non-governmental agencies, that examines how environmental conditions and human activities influence the behavior of individuals, the viability of populations and the structure of bird communities. Our research addresses fundamental questions in avian ecology and helps inform the conservation and management of birds and their habitat.
