At the Centre for Wildlife Ecology we have a variety of research projects underway examining the population biology, demography and behaviour of landbirds in British Columbia. Currently, 90 species of landbirds are red or blue-listed by the province, and 36 species have been listed as endangered, threatened, or of special concern by COSEWIC. Loss and degradation of habitat due to human activities (e.g. hydroelectric projects, logging, agriculture, overgrazing, urban development) are ongoing sources of concern for many species.
