Accessibility Results

,

High accessibility areas are concentrated in the City of Vancouver and City of Surrey, whereas Coquitlam and Delta are underserved.

Temporal Change (2007-2014): Accessibility in Vancouver, Surrey and Maple Ridge has increased and the number of biopsy locations increased from 68 to 77.

The major changes occurred in Vancouver, Surrey, and Maple Ridge, but there are smaller changes through each city that are part of Metro Vancouver shown in the figure below. There are also areas that had no change or decreased in accessibility since 2007. There is a clear shift in concentration moving from the urban centre downtown towards the suburbs. Additionally, older neighbourhoods that are more established, such as North Vancouver or New Westminster, have less change in accessibility than areas that are under going growth, such as Surrey and Maple Ridge.

VANDIX Results

The VANDIX maps produced (shown below), demonstrate the distributions of SES in relation to Dental Office locations. It should be noted that many offices have more than one physician, which can be seen in DA's with higher "office counts".

Counts for Dental offices within DAs were used to generate statistics based on their correlation with VANDIX scores. The Ordinary Least Squares method was utilized for this process.
