Description:
Abstract:
This dataset contains the administrative boundaries for cities and towns in the corresponding county, including both incorporated and unincorporated municipalities. Boundary lines were originally captured from the Georgia Department of Transportation's General highway Base Map. Where the boundary lines are coincident
with visible features, they have been photorevised using the 1993 digital orthophoto quarter quadrangles (DOQQs) at 1:12,000-scale.

Purpose:
This data was developed as part of Georgia's Statewide Core Base Map. The State of Georgia is developing this Base Map in partnership with the Federal Government through a coordinated, mulit-agency effort. When complete, the Core Base Map will provide statewide, large-scale data for transportation, hydrography, wetlands, and boundaries.
