All the data files require for this project are downloaded from  http://gis.state.ga.us/Clearinghouse/Data_Library/data_library.html .  It is the web page for Georgia GIS Data Clearing House.  The user must register before data can be downloaded.   This site contains the most extensive GIS data coverage for State of Georgia.  The search engine within the "GIS Library" can obtain data from varies different organizations.   Almost all of my required themes can be found in this search engine.  There were fourteen criteria downloaded from the Georgia GIS Data Clearing House.   They were: 

• Industrial Facilities Discharge Sites   - Metadata
• Hydrography - DLG  - Metadata
• Inventory of Dams  - Metadata
• Hazard Waste Sites  - Metadata
• Manufacturing Directory (1998)  - Metadata
• Mineral Industry Locations (1998)  - Metadata
• Railways - DLG (1996)  - Metadata
• Toxic Release Inventory Facilities (1998) - Metadata
• City Locations (1990)  - Metadata
• County Boundaries - DLG (1994) - no metadata availabe from server
• Major Streams (River Reach 3) (1996)  - Metadata
• Large Reservoirs (1990) à Discarded later in the project
• Landfills - no metadata availabe from server
• Conservation   - Metadata

All themes are in 1:100,000 scales.   This scale is selected because all the major reasoning themes are in 1:100,000.  All other boundary and feature related themes were then acquired specifically at 1:100,000 scales.  In addition, all downloaded data are in the same projection and in zipped ArcInfo Export file.  The projection is Lambert Conic Conformal.
