International Community Engagement

The International Community Engagement portfolio in SFU International encourages, supports and develops mutually-beneficial partnerships and collaborations in strategic regions of the global south and with corresponding international communities at home.

International Community Partnership

Our portfolio is founded on the notion of engaged scholarship, which includes reciprocal international community partnerships for capacity building, discovery, application, innovation and public engagement. Our work aligns with SFU’s Vision to be an engaged university defined by its dynamic integration of innovative education, cutting-edge research and far-reaching community engagement, which provides a clear mandate for continuing to build relationships with international communities and stakeholders locally and globally.

Engaged Research

We work with Faculties to identify priorities, activity, experience and opportunities for collaboration in international development and community-engaged scholarship through the application of research and expertise, building capacity for proposal and grant writing for development funders, and developing interdisciplinary and cross sectoral research collaborations, fellowships and scholarly exchange.
