This year the TIF will showcase study, work and volunteer abroad exhibitors as well as consulates. International exchange students will also be present to represent their home universities and share the experiences of their countries and schools with SFU students.

AIESEC is the world's largest student-run, not-for-profit organization present in over 106 countries and facilitating over 2000 internships a year. This is accomplished through the leadership opportunities within the organization and AIESEC's Global Internship Program. CISV is a global community of volunteers, creating opportunities for all ages to experience the excitement and enrichment of cultural diversity through our educational programs. CISV provides a range of unique, education group activities in over 60 countries, which develop cross-cultural understanding in children, youth and adults from around the world. We're seeking Adults (minimum 21 years old) who are interested in being chaperones to international summer camp programs. It's a volunteer position but no cost are incurred by the volunteer. that includes flight, accommodations, meals & any camp related expenses.

Engineers Without Borders was formed in 2000, and has since grown into one of Canada's leading international development organizations. EWB responds to the need of alleviating global poverty by helping people in developing communities gain access to sustainable solutions that will improve their lives. We believe that technology, when appropriately incorporated into each community's social, cultural, economic and political context, can drive extraordinary change. In Canada, 32 university chapters and 6 professional chapters engage Canadians with issues in international development, aiming to make Canada a model global citizen. Our 14 international offices provide information as well as financial support to over 55,000 highly-qualified students and faculty per year for international research and study. Besides distributing funding for research and study in Germany, DAAD also provides individuals with many internship opportunities ranging in a variety of fields.

Global Agents for Change

Global Agents for Change (Global AFC) acts as a social change catalyst, driving sustainable solutions to global poverty and inspiring youth to create a better world. We develop creative ways for young people to explore issues and take action, while raising funds and awareness for projects addressing global inequity. Current opportunities: - three cycling tours in 2010 to Europe, Mexico and Cambodia generating critical discussion, funds and awareness for global poverty. - fellowship program for volunteers to visit young developing world leaders that we support through scholarships, $20 at a time. - mentorship for young BC social entrepreneurs who have local/global projects capable of meaningful impact.

Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Programme

The Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Programme offers university graduates a one-year opportunity to experience Japan as an Assistant Language Teacher or Coordinator for International Relations through an official government of Japan Programme. Participants gain valuable overseas work experience, in-depth knowledge of Japanese culture and meet participants from around the world, while contributing to language education and international understanding at a local level. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Japan is recruiting candidates from September through November. Final selection of participants is announced in April after application screening and interviews. Participants depart for Japan at the beginning of August 2010.

Projects Abroad sends volunteers abroad to 24 countries to do over 150 different internships and service projects. Since being founded in 1992, we have grown to a team of 350 people around the world that sends 4500 volunteers annually. Volunteers can go at any time, for as long as they wish, choose where they want to go and what they want to do. Our most popular programs include: medical and nursing placements, business and journalism internships, as well as conservation, care and teaching projects. Projects are available in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Cambodia, China, Costa Rica, Ethiopia, Fiji, Ghana, India, Jamaica, Mexico, Moldova, Mongolia, Morocco, Nepal, Peru, Romania, Senegal, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Thailand and Togo.
