Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Programme

The Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Programme offers university graduates an opportunity to live and work in Japan as Assistant Language Teachers (ALT) or Coordinators for International Relations (CIR).

This exchange programme is conducted by the Government of Japan to promote mutual understanding between Japan and other nations. It aims to enhance foreign language education in Japan and promote international exchange at a local level.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Japan is recruiting candidates from September to mid-November. Final selection of participants is announced in April after application screening and interviews. Participants depart for Japan in August 2008.

Named after prominent Australian Sir John Monash, Monash University was established by an Act of Parliament in 1958, making it the first university to be established in the State of Victoria for 106 years.

From its first intake of 347 students at Clayton in 1961, the university grew rapidly in size and student numbers so that by 1967, it had enrolled more than 21,700 students.

In the decades that followed, Monash developed a wide range of courses in arts, commerce, engineering, education, law, medicine and science. It also established new buildings across the Clayton site and created a thriving cultural atmosphere with outstanding performing arts and concert programs and a growing collection of contemporary Australian art.

Peppy Kids Club - KTC Foreign Language Institute

Peppy Kids Club, a network of over 1100 children's English conversation classrooms in Japan, is owned and operated by KTC Foreign Language Institute. With a total enrollment of more than 90,000 children nationwide, the majority of our students are between the ages of 2.5 years to 14 years. Since being founded in 1992, we have grown to a team of 200 people around the world that sends nearly 3000 volunteers annually. Volunteers can go at any time, for as long as they wish. Our most popular programs include: medical and nursing placements, business and journalism internships, as well as care and teaching projects.

Ritsumeikan traces its roots to Prince Saionji’s private academy of the same name, established in 1869. It was officially founded in 1900 by his protege, Kojuro Nakagawa, as the Kyoto Hosei Gakko (Kyoto School of Law and Politics), later to take on the name”Ritsumeikan.” The name is derived from a passage in the Jinxin chapter of the Discourses of Mencius, and means “a place to establish one’s destiny through cultivating one’s mind.”
