Functional Data Analysis Workshop

Abstract

We hope this is the beginning of regular meetings in Functional Data Analysis. We have never had such a large group of FDA-ers in the Vancouver Area - very exciting. I'm sure we will manage to have Jason return quite quickly. Each of us will present our most recent work, leaving a lot of time for discussion. As we all have a common background, we will be able to present at a fairly high level, and have a high-level exchange of ideas. All of us have applied FDA in collaboration with non-statisticians, but in different areas (eg evolutionary biology, pest control, on-line quality control, biochemistry). So I anticipate that these individual collaborations will be strengthened and that we will "cross-fertilize" and expand our collaborations, as we learn about each others' applications and specific methodology.
