Abstract

"Aspects of Khovanov Homology"

His talk will introduce the algebraic and combinatorial aspects of a homological knot invariant due to Khovanov. We will construct this theory from scratch; no background in knot theory will be assumed (in particular, the term knot will be defined). Time permitting, some particular examples will be presented.
