Abstract

Apiaries, and the fields and forests that surround them, are the places where I first learned my most powerful lessons. This talk will draw from over 30 years of research on subjects ranging from killer bees to how colonies allocate work, from city to prairie, canola fields to apple orchards, describing what we've discovered about bees and what we humans can draw from the bees to better appreciate our place in nature, and who we are as individuals, communities, and a species.
