SFU Staffer and graduate student Jovanna Sauro's positive attitude helps conquer cancer
In the span of a year, Jovanna Sauro dealt with a cancer diagnosis, treatment and recovery, and embarked on both a new position as executive assistant to SFU's chief information officer and a full-time MEd program — all during the pandemic. Throughout all of this, her positivity and ambition never wavered.

The Burnaby Mountain Gondola is effective. It’s better for the environment. It provides efficient year-round service, even when it snows. And the SFU community knows this — over 10,000 people took Translink’s survey and showed support for the gondola. We’re closer than ever, but our local elected representatives need to hear from you before a final decision is made.

Advancing knowledge and making a real-world impact from SFU faculty, students and community partners' research will be showcased at this upcoming event later this spring. As part of the Towards Equity 2021 Community Summit Series, SFU Public Square and partners are looking for research that applies to the above and more. Apply by March 7 to share your change-making research.
Contribute to SFU research by participating in a short 10-minute survey. SFU’s Department of Economics researchers want to know what you think of inflation and the cost of living in Canada. Please complete the survey by March 15. Upon survey completion, you can enter for a chance to win a $150 Amazon gift card. If you have any questions, please contact Luba Petersen.
SFU Library has restored the recall service, allowing users to place requests for materials that are out on loan to others. The Library has also introduced automatic renewals - your items will automatically renew when they become due (except for materials someone else has requested).
