Indigenous Studies assistant professor Chelsey Geralda Armstrong and other SFU archaeologists and botanists have identified ancient orchards and forest gardens cultivated from Indigenous peoples. Their discoveries within ancient food-forests, some of which includes trees hundreds of years old. The researchers are also documenting material evidence of Indigenous practices of crabapple orchards, wild rice root gardens and berry patch stewarding. |

SFU Human Resources is launching a new Leadership Foundation Program cohort this fall. It will be a blend of in-person and online learning sessions. This program is intended for SFU managers and supervisors who have seven years or less of experience supervising others and who currently have direct reports. Submit an expression of interest by June 24. |

Developing an interim leadership model has been implemented to support the team while a search for a new VPA is conducted. As part of this interim leadership model, Kevin Oldknow has been appointed as senior advisor to the provost beginning August 15, and continuing for two years. |
