Synopsis

The brain can be likened to a complex computing machine with neurons serving as the most fundamental building blocks. Scientists are now able to synthesize neurons in vitro which opens the way for a number of bio-computing technologies. This presentation explores the possibility of building logic gates entirely out of neurons based on simulations which model neurons as RC circuits. Successful implementation of such technologies could serve as a tool for cognitive enhancement and the treatment of neurological diseases.
