REEL 83 COMMENTARY

1. Distant droning snowmobiles, remote rambling, some very quiet interludes. Distant jet slowly appears (5'40"), disappears.

2. Strong wind. Nice fluctuations in wind intensity. Recorded from the car window. Some low frequency resonance from the car body in the wind. And then bright highs of the leafless branches of this hedge make it a tough sound, full spectrum.

3. Same. Different recording levels. Cars rip by (2'55", 8'15", 8'50"). Some disturbances on right channel.

4. High scream. Hard-to-take sound.

5. Fine levels. Strong throbbing diesels pass hurriedly, leaving quietness. Bell starts at crossing near Kindersley, Saskatchewan (0'30"), whistle and train passes (0'45"), bell stops (1'30"), quietness except for some rifle shots (3'30").
