EPA Responder Alert
The EPA has issued an alert to emergency responders encouraging them to use
multiple information sources when responding to chemical emergencies. It
encourages them to use resources other than MSDS's and cites some examples
where MSDS's provided incorrect or conflicting information. It is posted
on the EPA's Chemical Emergency Preparedness and Prevention Office web page
at
http://www.epa.gov/ceppo/whatnew.html
The document is a PDF file and can be downloaded from
http://www.epa.gov/ceppo/pubs/respnd1.pdf
The document contains a list of useful chemical information resources. I'm
working on a web page that has all of the listed sites. (Note: Some of
the site addresses on the EPA document are listed incorrectly.)
