Ph D Students

  1. Xue Yang: Starting Ph.D. in Operations Research at Simon Fraser University Surrey through the INS program in January 2021. Her research topic is scheduling problems in hospital management.


  2. Navpreet Kaur: Currently doing Ph.D. in Operations Research at Simon Fraser University Surrey. Her Research interest is in quadratic unconstrained binary optimization problems.


  3. Zhongxiang Chang : Visiting Ph.D. student from Hunan University, China during 2020-21. Expected to garduate from Hunan University in 2021. His reserch interests include multi-objective optimization problems in satellite mission planning.


  4. Vladyslav Sokol : Completed Ph.D. in Computing Science from Simon Fraser University Burnaby in 2018. (Joitnly supervised with B. Battacharya). Currently works at Maxar Technologies LTD. as software engineer and operations reserch analysist. Research interests: Design, analysis, implementation, and testing of algorithms; heuristics and approximation algorithms.

  5. Pooja Pandey: Completed Ph.D. in Operations Research at Simon Fraser University Surrey in 2018. Currently works at 1QBit as Operations Research Scientist. Research interests: Quadratic combinatorial optimization, network design.

  6. Brad Woods: Completed Ph.D. in Operations Research at Simon Fraser University Surrey in 2018. Currently works at 1QBit as Operations Research Scientist. Research interests: Combinatorial Optimization.

  7. Stefan Lendl : Visiting Ph.D. student from Technische Universität Graz, Austria in 2015. We collaborated in research on combinatorial optimization problems with iteraction costs.


  8. Piyashat Sripratak: Completed Ph.D. in Operations Research at Simon Fraser University Surrey in 2014 (Joitly supervised with Tamon Stephen). Currently an assistant professor in the Department of Mathematics, Chiang Mai University, Thailand. Research interests: Quadratic combinatorial optimization problems.

  9. Annie Zhang: Completed Ph.D. in Operations Research from Simon Fraser University in 2011. Currently an Aissistant Professor in Mathematics at Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University, Jiangsu, China. Research Interests include combinatorial optimization, mathematical modeling, algorithm design and implementation, and optimization applications in healthcare.
