(REM)iniscint: Immersive Environment Game

Simon Fraser University Team Project

Goal
Our goal is to create an immersive world exploring themes of inner turmoil and lucid dreaming to evoke an emotional reaction and sense of familiarity. We use the Oculus Rift, a consumer-end head mounted display, and the Razer Hydra, a motion and orientation detection game controller, to engage the user and allow them to explore the environment naturally.


Intended User Experience
We want the user to feel emotionally connected to our main character, Felix, and empathize with his struggles portrayed in our environment, namely the loss of a relationship and the burdens of an unfulfilling job. We hope users can reflect back on our project and liken it to something they have experienced.

Responsibilities:

During this project I was responsible for the character sketching, storyboarding iterations, world design and the filming, directing and editing of the team project video.

NightFall: Interactive Multimedia Documentary

Simon Fraser University Team Project

To design an interactive multimedia documentary utilizing innovative features of HTML5 to enhance the user experience. An exploration of the effects of light pollution in our cities and what it has costs us as a culture. I was very responsible for the creation of the interactive constellation star-map section of the website.

I strongly enhanced my understanding of interactive web design while
exploring innovative takes on documentary through multiple media
channels.

Social Media Video Designing

SOS CHILDREN’S VILLAGE BC

Redesign a series of promotional videos to be uploaded to the SOS Children’s  Village British Columbia  YouTube channel to help raise awareness in the local community and internationally.

Additionally I was tasked with creating a new set of opening, introduction, title, and closing videos to assist in the updating. I advanced my ability to communicate technical ideas in a professional setting. I also ideated, iterated and implemented project changes based on: evolving critique, and predefined constraints.

 

 

 

Aqua Documenta

A short documentary about the conventions of how water is viewed by society.

With the documentaries being the"creative treatment of actuality," we chose to take a show don't tell approach to this documentary. This forces the audience to create there own story, and provokes thought about water. Our inspirations for this film were Koyaanisqatsi, and Baraka.
