_for my final portfolio i integrated sound and effects to create a sort of particle lightshow. Music leads the play of different lights...or do the lights lead the music?

_The song is an original composition using the midi audio capabilities of mixcraft.

_I actually had to render the animation twice to get the glow effects from the software render and composit them with the hardware rendering of the particle effects. I used a luma key on the software frames to overlay them over the hardware frames.

_I made extensive use of the trax editor for looping animations. Key framing of the material properties produces the varying glow and keyframing the speed and rate of the particles allowed me to send them in pulses. Making the lightning appear and jump was just a matter of moving the lightning segments on or off the screen without any keyframe interpolation in their movements.

_The last effect was produced by rotating an invisible plane while particles bounced off of it.
